Mind Mapping as a Tool to Support Change

Purpose
Mind mapping is a creative method to interpret evidence to enhance critical thinking. This technique provides a visual display that links ideas and thoughts about a given topic. This method of learning is used in nursing, education, psychology and research suggests it is an effective way to build on prior knowledge, improve critical thinking and promote active learning in a creative stimulating environment (Young, 2007).

Plan
The green tree above  is an example of a mind map reflecting current evidence to identify strategies to sustain the new chart order change in an acute care health care center. This visual thinking technique encourages discussion, brainstorming, exploration and learning with all those influenced by the change.

Vision

Our group would like to introduce the class to the mind mapping tool in a collaborative activity.

Parts to be played
1.
Answer the question posed on our site “What is one key point that you take from our presentation” .
2.  We will compile the key words and themes from your answers and create a “team mind map” at the end of the week.
